Ghorba 4 Palestine

This project is a collaboration with the brand Ghorba, a capsule collection in support of the Palestinian cause, featuring two illustrations printed on iPhone cases, bandanas, T-shirts, and posters. All proceeds from the sales were donated to organizations aiding Palestinians.

This illustration, printed on T-shirts and iPhone cases, is inspired by an old edition of a Palestinian stamp. It is a tribute to the beauty and resilience of Palestine, with a design reminiscent of a postal stamp featuring a map of Palestine adorned with traditional embroidery patterns and a symbolic watermelon. The stamp showcases the map of Palestine, with the watermelon symbolizing its flag, along with traditional embroidery ornaments and a motif of pomegranate and olive flowers. It is a soft and colorful creation, celebrating Palestinian culture and its history.

My creation "Free Gaza" or "Free Palestine" conveys the message of not forgetting Palestine, whether through the text "We are a generation that will not forget" along the edges of the visual, the use of Palestinian ornaments, or the calligraphy used to write "Palestine." I chose a textured brush to evoke the artisanal nature of the ornaments, which are inspired by traditional Palestinian garment patterns. The Brevier Viennese typeface, with its strong identity, reflects the geometric and ornamental character of these embroidery motifs. Finally, the use of black and white is a nod to the Palestinian keffiyeh. This visual, printed on bandanas or posters, encourages continued efforts to preserve what remains of Palestinian heritage.

The sticker and poster versions of these two illustrations are available in the Shop section ;)
